This supports the scripture “Do not be hasty in the laying on of hands...” 1 Timothy 5:22.
How many times do we hear the proclamations of "anointed" when a celebrity professes new faith? They are elevated, celebrated, and lauded as if THEY did something marvelous and have sudden authority to speak as one who has some kind of special gifting and knowledge. It is absurd and dangerous on so many levels. The worst is when they fall, and/or renounce their faith, and bring reproach upon the name of the Lord and against the Faith.
Persevering to the end is on my mind often these days. Our Christian life is not an easy one; we signed up for War and Battle whether we knew it or not. I certainly didn't understand that;
I was quite caught up in the thrill of salvation, knowing my sins were completely forgiven, and in the joy of new and wondrous fellowship with the Lord. There is nothing wrong with that either, those are genuine gifts of rebirth; I still draw on that excitement when I become discouraged.
However, I can see that staying in the daily battle is what ultimately proves our faith is real-not our feelings, not even our actions, but sincere daily repentance and perseverance. We fail, get up, and fall forward. It is more complicated than it first appears. Such is the progression of our faith. (His thoughts are not our thoughts and our ways are not His ways.)
Poor Judas, who had every tool possible available to him while he was in Jesus's inner circle for 3.5 years, and yet he still betrayed Him. It is terrifying, humbling and tragic to realize how we can deceive ourselves.
Like MacArthur often said "If I could lose my faith I would." It is Christ who elected me, and He holds on to me, it is Christ who preserves and protects me, and I trust He will bring me home.
I just love how you are always diving deep into His Word with an open heart and mind....
This post really resonated with me. Thank you. Looking forward to Audited!!
Thank you Emmy. It just proved how alive His word is; the deeper we go, the more we realize we've just scratched the surface.
🔥 WORD 🔥
Thank you Thad for meat to chew on.

Robin, always appreciate your insights. Thank you.
Which brings me squarely to:
• John 15:5
I am the vine < root >
ye are the branches:
He that abideth in me
and I in him
the same bringeth forth
much fruit:
for without me
👉 ye can do nothing 👈
Thanks, GBO. Exactly right, and it cuts both ways: apart from Him a branch produces nothing, and a branch truly in Him will not stay barren.
Precisely!
It is Truth, revealed both in The Natural Realm, and is Echoed, in The Spiritual Realm.
